Everyone knows about Stargate SG-1 and Stargate Atlantis. And everyone including me thought that the ending to the original Stargate series sucked big time.
It seems though that the folks behind the Sci-Fi network wish to rekindle the affair with their audience by recapturing the magic that was once in the days when Richard Dean Anderson was still with the SG-1 team before they cut him of the show in season 9.
This is all to be launched in a new Television movie called - Stargate: Continuum.
The story carries on with ingredients of the two shows (i.e.: SG-1 & Atlantis) by reuniting both teams with Col. Jack O'Neill. In a threat to the Earth made by the Go'ald, along with other unseen enemies, the newly assembled team must devise a plan to conquer the threat once and for all.
The trailer above pretty much describes the rest.
The movie is set to be released on DVD and Blu-ray Disc on July 29th, 2008.

I haven't seen a single episode of Stargate SG1 but I hear it's a good show. One of these days I'll buy all ten seasons and do a one year plan like I did when I watched all five seasons of Babylon 5 followed by all seven seasons of Star Trek DS9.
Over the past few weeks I watched season one of Stargate Atlantis. The acting is horrible, even by sci-fi standards, but some of the episodes aren't half bad. It is incredibly weak in comparison to top-notch sci-fi like Battlestar Galactica but beggars can't be choosers since there aren't that many sci-fi shows to choose from.
Muscati: you can try checking out some of the episodes that are available on You Tube just to get a good idea on what the series is all about and perhaps if you should ever buy the whole ten seasons or not.
I myself have only reached season 8..I'm reluctant to buy seasons 9 and 10 because of the reviews that its had so far by people who viewed it.
But I might buy them just as well.
I have a problem with the ending of Continuum. Mitchell is sent back to earth through the stargate to 1929 where he has to wait ten years to sto ba'al. Well, it ain't possible since the stargate was buried at the time. Why has noone noticed this?...Make sure I get credit. Also, if you can explain how it is possible let me know because it ruined the movie for me.

The gate was uncovered in 1928, as per the opening sequence of the original movie, by Catherine's father.
