Sleepless,

Yes, I have been informed by this shocking news this afternoon, and it’s really worrying. Especially that it will be the first time for our people to face such a thing for real.

My worry is when the storm hits Masirah and Hallanyat Islands, where is it going to end?!

I hope that it will not hit other areas of the coastline of Oman; otherwise this will be a complete disaster for us.

And for the many times the Indian guy’s prediction is right and it was not a nonsense rumour as what the locals were saying!

May Allah [swt] protect every one and our beloved land Oman…

Its not yet known how big the impact it will have on Muscat and the surrounding areas. But there will be definite heavy rains and gusty winds but a lot less than what would hit the Masirah and Halaniyat Islands.

Those specific two locations have been evacuated and the ROP has said it has published a red alert emergency to all its vehicles in those disturbed areas as well as that people can call the ROP on 9999 here in Oman should they want their assistance to help build protective shelter from the cyclone.

Inshallah we will all get through this with as little damage as possible.
